PTA Newsletter #041: Mum Orders Close Friday, Car Wash Saturday
Week of September 21
Hi Northeast families! This is a 5th grade week. Mum orders close Friday, Sept 25, and you pick your mums up at the Fifth Grade Car Wash this Saturday, Sept 26, 9 AM to 12 PM in front of the school. Both raise money for the graduating 5th grade class. Also inside: After School Enrichment classes start this week, no school Monday for Yom Kippur, and Back-to-School Night is Thursday, Oct 1.
Order your fall mums by Friday. Pick them up Saturday.
The 5th grade Mum Sale is the fall fundraiser that pays for the graduating class's big year: the Moving Up ceremony, class trips and the yearbook. Pre-order online, then collect your mums at the Fifth Grade Car Wash on Saturday. Every dollar goes to the 5th grade class.
Bring the car. The 5th graders are washing.
The Fifth Grade Car Wash is this Saturday, September 26, from 9 AM to 12 PM, in front of Northeast on Grove Street. Pull up, let our 5th graders get the car sparkling, and pick up your mums while you're there. It's the same crew, the same morning, and it all funds the same thing.
No appointment, no pre-payment. Just come by. Ordered mums? Saturday is pickup day -- have the name your order is under handy.
Classes start this week.
Fall ASE begins Tuesday, September 22 for Tuesday classes and Wednesday, September 23 for Wednesday classes, and runs for 7 weeks. Here's what to expect on a class day.

What's coming up
View full calendar →Next week, this email goes to members only.
Starting in October, the newsletter email goes only to current 2026–27 PTA members. PTA memberships reset every school year, so last year's membership doesn't carry over. Joining takes about two minutes and individual membership is $20. The newsletter is always posted free at northeastpta.org -- joining is how you keep getting it in your inbox.
Two pages for your morning trip.
New on the site this month, and worth a bookmark now that mornings are back to normal.
Should I leave earlier today?
The traffic page checks the main streets around Northeast, plus road closures and weather, and gives you a plain answer: normal, a little slower, or delays. It updates every few minutes during the morning and afternoon windows.
Check traffic →How the morning car line works
The drop-off steps in the order you meet them: queue in the right lane on Grove Street heading north, turn right into the front drive, pull all the way up, let kids out on the sidewalk side while adults stay in the car, and turn right only when you leave. Never turn into the teacher lot, and leave a gap at every driveway.

Got news? Put it in the newsletter.
Class events, volunteer needs, club news, community resources: if Northeast families should know about it, we want to run it. There's one form for all of it.

To everyone observing Yom Kippur, an easy fast and a meaningful day from all of us. And if you're around on Saturday, come say hi at the car wash -- our 5th graders have been planning this one all month. Thanks for reading, and for being part of this community.
Warmly,
Your Northeast PTA Board
