Meet this fall's ASE classes
Here's the full lineup for After School Enrichment this fall: 12 classes for grades K–5, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3 to 4 pm, for 7 weeks. Take a look and talk it over with your child, so you're ready when registration opens Monday, Sept 14.
Registration opens Monday, Sept 14 · Members first
PTA members get first pick.
PTA members: Monday, Sept 14, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Registration is closed from 12:30 to 5 pm, then opens to everyone at 5 pm and closes Thursday, Sept 17 at noon. Classes have 10 to 16 spots each, and there are no processing fees this year.

Intro to Lacrosse
Passing, catching, cradling and dodging, with the Lacrosse Club of Montclair. No contact, all equipment provided, and kids are grouped by grade.

STEM with Mrs. Falco
Hands-on experiments and building challenges in science, technology, engineering and math.

Mindful Moments
Stories, yoga games, breathing and crafts with Ms. Kupperman. Kids take home simple tools for calming down.

Bouncy Beats Studio
A dance class for rhythm, balance and making up your own moves. No experience needed, just comfy clothes and sneakers.

Jr Art Masters: American Art
Our art teacher Ms. Karma Cloud introduces American artists, past and present. Then students make their own work at the easel.

Tae Kwon Do
Master Damien is back. Tae Kwon Do moves, plus how the discipline carries over to school, sports and character. The price includes the uniform and belt.

Chess Quest
New players learn how the pieces move. Experienced players work on openings, traps and endgames. Every class has a lesson, puzzles and game time.

Junior Gardeners
Pollinators, compost, soil and where food comes from, taught outdoors with Montclair Community Farms.

The Audition Lab with Mr. Michael
The basics of acting, singing and dance auditions. Kids prepare a monologue, a song and a short dance, and the last class is a showcase for families.

Kids' American Mahjong
The real game, not a simplified version, taught by 2BamBirds, a local small business. Beginners welcome.

Mini Art Masters: European Art
Ms. Karma Cloud introduces European artists, past and present. Then the kids paint their own mini masterpieces at the easel.

The “Ultimate” ASE (Ultimate Frisbee)
Throwing, catching and playing Ultimate outdoors. It's a non-contact sport, and players learn to make their own calls. Led by 4th-grade parent Walter Swett and 3rd-grade teacher Ms. Greenhalgh-Checcheto.

§ Good to know
How ASE works
- After dismissal
- Parent volunteers meet students right after dismissal and stay with them until their class starts at 3 pm.
- Pick-up
- At 4 pm, in front of the school.
- Schedule
- 7 weeks. An 8th week is on the calendar to make up classes missed for weather or other reasons. There's no class on days off or half days.
- Fees
- There will be no additional processing fees charged this year on registration. Once you register, refunds aren't available.
- Scholarships
- Ask the school counselor, dkupperman@montclairps.org.

Registration happens on Givebacks, at the link below. PTA members can register Monday, Sept 14 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. It reopens for everyone at 5 pm and closes Thursday, Sept 17 at noon. Refunds aren't available once you register.
