Hi Northeast families! Film on the Field is this Friday, Oct 23, after last week's rain. We're also introducing something new: every PTA volunteer sign-up now lives on our own website, at northeastpta.org/volunteer. The first one up is the Book Fair, and it needs lots of helpers. Also inside: abbreviated days this Wednesday and Thursday, and Book Fair eWallets open next Monday, Oct 26.

§ Friday, October 23 · Film on the Field

Film on the Field is this Friday.

Rain moved us from last Friday, so Film on the Field is now Friday, October 23, on the Northeast school field. We're still watching Hoppers, and it's still free for Northeast families.

Start time
Coming this week. We'll likely start a little earlier than 6 PM, and we'll email the exact time.
Pizza
Already pre-ordered? You don't need to do anything. Your order moves to October 23. Popcorn, snacks and water will be for sale on the night.
Bring
A blanket, some chairs and warm layers. Evenings are getting chilly!
Volunteer

From now on, when the PTA needs help, this is where it'll be. Here's what to expect.

PTA events
All on one page. The Book Fair, the Pancake Breakfast, festivals, movie nights: every open PTA sign-up is listed at northeastpta.org/volunteer. Check back anytime; new ones appear as chairs post them.
Change of plans
Use the link in your confirmation email to change or cancel. Lost it? Tap "Email me my links" at the bottom of the volunteer page and we'll send them again. If a job is full, you can join the waiting list and you'll hear from us if a spot opens.
Your class
Class sign-ups come from your class parent. Class parties, field trips and mystery readers aren't listed on the public page. Your class parent sends the link by email or text, and several classes are already using it for Halloween parties.
Running an event?
Chairs + class parents
Chairs and class parents can make sign-ups too. Go to northeastpta.org/volunteer/chairs, enter your email and tap Request access. Start from a template; confirmations, reminders and thank-you emails go out on their own.

§ November 14–19 · Scholastic Book Fair

The Book Fair is coming, and it needs you.

The Scholastic Book Fair opens with the annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, November 14, in the Northeast Library. Classes visit the fair Monday to Wednesday, Nov 16–18. It's a fun week and a great fundraiser for Northeast.

Volunteer
Every shift is open. Help set up on Friday, Nov 13 (12:30–2:30 PM). Run a register on Saturday morning at the Pancake Breakfast, or Monday to Wednesday during the day, after school or Wednesday evening. Help pack up on Thursday, Nov 19 (12:30–2:30 PM). Pick a shift →

Opening next Monday, Oct 26. A Scholastic eWallet lets your child shop at the fair without carrying cash. We'll share the link as soon as it's live.

Parents are welcome to shop until 4:30 PM on Monday, Nov 16 and Tuesday, Nov 17, and until 7:30 PM on Wednesday, Nov 18.

Picked a shift during dismissal? Ask your child's teacher to dismiss them to the library.

This email goes to members only.

Since September 28, the newsletter email goes only to current 2026–27 PTA members. PTA memberships reset every school year, so last year's membership doesn't carry over. Joining takes about two minutes and individual membership is $20. The newsletter is always posted free at northeastpta.org. Joining is how you keep getting it in your inbox.

First pick when registration opens
Members registered for fall ASE hours before everyone else. The same goes for the next round of sign-ups.
A vote, and a hand in what happens at Northeast
Members vote at PTA meetings, and every membership helps pay for events, teacher support and the extras our kids love.

Class events, volunteer needs, club news, community resources: if Northeast families should know about it, we want to run it. There's one form for all of it.

Fill out the form. Add a headline, the date and the details. Attach photos, flyers or PDFs (up to 10 files); for a video, paste a link.

Send it by Friday at 5 PM for the following week's issue. If your event is coming up soon, send it a week or two early.

We follow up. We may edit for length and clarity, and we'll be in touch if we have questions or can't fit it in that week.
